Is Nursing School Hard?
by Anonymous
Your Question:Is nursing school hard? What is the job like to become a neonatal nurse?
My Answer:Yes. Nursing school is hard. It is not impossible though. Think about it, nurses are in charge of the safety of their patients. In ICU settings, the nurse may see life and death situations on a daily basis and must know how to react immediately. That type of situation calls for adequate training.
Don't let the idea of nursing school being hard stop you though. A good nursing school will want you to succeed. They will help you with tutors, extra lab time, and even help you study for the NCLEX by suggesting workshops.
Good preparation makes all the difference in nursing school. Do the assigned reading before class, and talk to the professor as soon as you start getting lost. The sooner you ask for help, the easier it makes your life.
When you decide to go to nursing school, do your research. Look for a school that matches your learning style. Ask how big classroom sizes are, ask about the student nursing association and the schools NCLEX pass rate.
So yes, nursing school is hard. The profession itself is hard though, so this is to be expected. If it is your dream, go for it and don't let the thought of a little hard work stop you.
