Nursing Scholarships Getting School Paid For with No Debt
You got accepted to nursing school (yeah for you) and now you need money for college. Nursing scholarships are your best friend. Heck, forget the nursing part, just scholarships.

Maybe you fall into that category of people that “make too much money” for financial aid programs. You are not alone. No need to worry though scholarships are for everyone. I should know, I went to school for free. There was even one year I was PAID, that’s right paid to go to school from the extra money I received with scholarships!Ok, first things first where do you find scholarships? My scholarships came from several different places. Here is my list: - A four year scholarship from my university
- A one year nursing scholarship from the nursing program at my university
- A one year scholarship from my sorority
- Two one year scholarships from my father’s work association
That’s right I got five different scholarships to go to college. Many scholarships groups don’t care if you already have money for college. I am proof of that!

Ok, so you have found scholarships. Now you just have to apply for those scholarships. From years of experience in this, I can promise you this only gets easier the more you apply. Save every application and every essay you write. Usually if you write one to three good essays, you can always tweak them to fit any question you may see! The scholarship interviews get easier as you go too!I applied for numerous scholarships, but I only fully wrote two essays and than just used those to answer the essay question. The point of ANY essay question is for the scholarship group to understand why YOU deserve their money for college. So prove it to them in your writing.
So where does that money go? Most nursing scholarships get sent directly to the university and then the school applies it to you bill. If you have any question on how the process works, take it up with your school to find out. I do have one suggestion. If the scholarship gets sent directly to you, immediately get it to your school so it can be applied to your tuition. The scholarship is for your education, not for you to play with. Be honest and use the money for what it was intended for. If you don’t have any bills left with the university (and that would be awesome) put the money in a high interest savings account, like ING (The Orange Savings Account. Earn high interest. Great rates, no fees, no minimums. Start saving in under 5 minutes. ) or HSBC, and save it until you need to buy some books, or when you need to buy scrubs for clinical, or that $150 stethoscope you just have to have. Use it as intended!

You have all the tools you need. Go out there and get those nursing scholarships. I have said before that any money you put into nursing school you will get back. That is still true, but school is so much sweeter when you aren’t in debt when it is all said and done!
